If you like your blues with a side of deep southern soul, look no further than Cassie Keenum and Rick Randlett. Cassie was raised as the daughter of a Baptist preacher, but she always had a rebellious and independent attitude that would push her to fall in love with blues music and shady bars. Rick first fell for the blues spell in the 70s, influenced by artists such as Eric Clapton and other blues-rock pioneers. Together this unlikely duo produces an undeniable chemistry and soulful original blues. In 2016 they were the NCFBS solo/duo blues challenge winners and were semi-finalists in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Their CD “Hauntings” debuted at #9 on the Contemporary Blues Charts in 2017. Back porch all the way but never basic, this is wonderful sultry music that is captivating and certainly haunting.
